00:00:00:00 - 00:00:08:21
Stacey
Well, welcome everyone Meg staring at me because I think she wants me to start. Okay, so. Hi, everybody. We just came to know. Yeah. Yeah.

00:00:08:23 - 00:00:11:16
Meghan
So is Jesus

00:00:11:19 - 00:00:21:16
Stacey
This is Meg and I. After traveling for a few days of no sleep and not good food and not feeling well. So this is now. You got us. Jet lag.

00:00:21:21 - 00:00:22:08
Meghan
Jet lag?

00:00:22:11 - 00:00:43:19

It was an hour time difference. It shouldn't even be that much. Jet lag. I know . no Yeah. We just got off a whirlwind three day tripped , buy new dresses. So what I want to talk about today is the difference between travel as a business and travel for fun, which is sort of separate and sort of the same for us because we do love what we do.

00:00:43:19 - 00:00:57:04

So it's always fun. And we laughed a lot on this most recent trip, which was technically business.

00:00:57:07 - 00:01:01:24
Stacey
Welcome to the Chronicles of Caffeine And ambition hosted by the Sinders Sisters. I’m Stacey.

00:01:02:00 - 00:01:20:15

I'm Stacey and I'm Megan and what we are here to do on our podcast is tell you about business, life, families, essentially everything that we do, we want to share with you because we have a lot of self-confidence. We've learned a lot of self-confidence over the years. You sure have. And we want to share that with you. We want to show you how.

00:01:20:17 - 00:01:32:28

Let's do this.

00:01:33:00 - 00:01:41:06

At a very starting point. Oh, I can't ask that because it was a family vacation, which is more fun. Stacey?

00:01:41:08 - 00:01:43:06
Stacey
Yeah, I know that. I am not going to compare.

00:01:43:08 - 00:01:49:08

What's the. Okay, I'm going to change my question. What? That wasn't a real question. There is. I don't expect you to answer that. But the biggest difference for you

00:01:49:10 - 00:01:56:03
Stacey
like I guess wanted to family trip and you're still watching your kids on a family trip, but it felt like no, no, never mind it's still the same. We still watch the the big.

00:01:56:03 - 00:01:56:29

Family.

00:01:57:01 - 00:02:10:18
Stacey
Team that came with us, and we're still like counting heads. Everybody here. Okay, we got everybody good. Let's go. Okay, I still do that. I don't know what's the difference. They doing different things like we wouldn't go to. Probably wouldn't have gone to that same restaurant.

00:02:10:23 - 00:02:28:18
Meghan
No. We probably wouldn't have gone to either of those restaurants with many kids and family like in comparison to the France trip where it was, I didn't even know how many of us eat. Ten of us. It was a lot of us. That's way too much to go to the, like, the same type of restaurants that we went to, that we're not necessarily higher class restaurants, a little bit more so than normal.

00:02:28:20 - 00:02:30:15
Stacey
Just not a restaurant going to bring kids into.

00:02:30:16 - 00:02:31:23
Meghan
Not at all. Not at all.

00:02:31:28 - 00:02:48:10
Stacey
So that kind of stuff, sightseeing, different things, we can actually stop and not I mean, if I want to look at a building and a piece of architecture, I can. And the kids are like, why are we looking at another building? Mom's touching buildings again. Like it? I mean, the girls probably think in their head, but then they say.

00:02:48:15 - 00:02:59:09
Meghan
I don't know. I think they agreed, like, I don't even think it was you that said something about the architecture of the buildings in Chicago. Like on the way the airport in the Uber. Somebody said, great architecture. Maybe it was me. I'm pretty tired.

00:02:59:12 - 00:03:18:25
Stacey
I think it's a bit more of a different go, go, go. At least with kids, when you're traveling, there is time. The kids still go to bed at kind of a decent time. and you go during the day, but then you're home and you have supper and you still have a routine. Whereas traveling and for business, you never switch off from business, ever.

00:03:18:27 - 00:03:39:09
Meghan
That's true. It was 100% of the time talking about business. Okay, fine. I'll give it like 99.99% of the time talking about business, because we're all friends here anyway. So we talked about home life and like we talked a little bit about it, but because we were there for a specific purpose, to find dresses, to find new designers, to like, find that exact, specific thing we went to look for.

00:03:39:09 - 00:03:47:27
Meghan
We you're right. We never, never turned off. And we did in France, which is surprising. Well, it's the first time we've taken a family trips in ten years. It was ten years.

00:03:47:28 - 00:04:05:03
Stacey
It was ten years. Yeah. You're right. So that was the first family job. Yeah. You're right. And we actually somewhat turned off on the trip. Like, I think that was the first time we've ever gone away that long. Definitely because it was two weeks and we've never done two weeks before. Yeah. Actually not answering emails and or phone calls or any problems.

00:04:05:05 - 00:04:20:13
Stacey
Yeah. That was a first. Hard to gauge that. If you're saying the difference between one to the other. I think I'm probably just as tired as I was after ten days of travel in France as I was three days of buying and doing business stuff in Chicago, I feel that tired. Still.

00:04:20:15 - 00:04:36:23
Meghan
I think that's fair. It's mentally taxing. The all the comparisons, all of that. Is this right? I mean, it's never been it's our favorite part of the job in one way, and our least favorite in another way, because it's hard to make those decisions. Are we making the right decisions? A lot of second guessing. Do we have that dress already?

00:04:36:23 - 00:04:53:10
Meghan
Do we need this? Do we need a new line? Yeah, there's a lot of questions and a lot of a lot of second guessing ourselves about what we're choosing. So it's mentally taxing in that way. But then being with your family will be mostly with my family and a couple of your family is, that was that was taxing in a completely different way.

00:04:53:12 - 00:04:58:04
Meghan
Manage the children. One runs away. None of the people ran away on this trip. I'll tell you that.

00:04:58:05 - 00:04:58:26
Stacey
The youngest did.

00:04:58:27 - 00:05:00:08
Meghan
No. On this trip.

00:05:00:10 - 00:05:02:16
Stacey
Oh. This trip. Sorry. The youngest. Amanda.

00:05:02:19 - 00:05:04:16
Meghan
Amanda ran away.

00:05:04:18 - 00:05:13:06
Stacey
Amanda just went. We had to watch one of the girls all the time when we go places. Actually, now there's two of them we have to watch. One could probably run away a little worried, but she could fend for herself.

00:05:13:06 - 00:05:22:07
Meghan
One would willingly run away and then completely take care of herself. She's the only one who went off on her own. And we were like, well, she'd probably take care of somebody before they took care of her.

00:05:22:07 - 00:05:24:15
Stacey
So was there, though? No, no.

00:05:24:18 - 00:05:43:12
Meghan
I don't like that you're going on somewhere on your own. But I can't disagree with this. I think you'll hurt me. yeah. No, but it was a constantly heard, like heard all the children together and the other place to, for me, very, very different in that way. Because you're right. I was usually checking to make sure our group is the right size five of us.

00:05:43:12 - 00:05:47:10
Meghan
We we took up a lot of space at the, at the bridal market that we were at.

00:05:47:11 - 00:05:48:00
Stacey
We did, but it.

00:05:48:00 - 00:06:02:23
Meghan
Was decently easy to tell that all of us were there. We were a group, we stayed together, but we it was sort of more of a visual of our group. Is the right size five is easy to count. For me, it was much harder because they're my kids and their little, and it was a constant where's that one?

00:06:02:23 - 00:06:17:17
Meghan
Where's this one? And if they're with somebody else, I hope that person still has them. What if they ran away? And then they was the first week in France, the first of the two weeks. And I didn't have a backpack for the youngest. We had a stroller because for some reason, in my mind, I was like, a stroller will be easier.

00:06:17:17 - 00:06:32:16
Meghan
Day one flat out refused to go in the stroller. He dragged his feet. He tipped it over like he was horrific. Never have I had that much trouble with him or any of the others. But day one he was like, no, I am not going in the how dare you?

00:06:32:19 - 00:06:35:07
Stacey
Do you think I can't walk this whole thing? But you could do.

00:06:35:07 - 00:06:39:23
Meghan
This thousands of steps in these 10 million. Yeah.

00:06:39:23 - 00:06:53:10
Stacey
And if you've ever been to France, there isn't much in the way of like, barriers to things. And if there is, it's like, maybe a couple posts or maybe like a rope and like, it's just one of those things where you should just know better and don't go over the cliff. End of story. Where is in Canada?

00:06:53:10 - 00:07:14:03
Stacey
We have like chain mail layered like full guarded, and it's like completely blocked off and signs being like careful, dangerous 50,000ft cliff here. Like know in France it's like two bars and the cliff. And so this guy ran for that cliff and was going to go to the bars. I almost had a heart attack. Yeah, but he's fearless.

00:07:14:09 - 00:07:36:14
Meghan
It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in the France trip, in the sense of between Dax causing everyone a heart attack every once in a while because he just has no fear. And my driving causing Chris a heart attack. It would be really funny. And then me just having a panic attack constantly because I'm trying to keep track of all of them, even though they're not even in the same car, worrying constantly about where they are.

00:07:36:17 - 00:07:37:16
Meghan
It would be Interesting

00:07:37:18 - 00:07:51:03
Stacey
to watch the chaos. Yeah. Go down. Yeah. It was fun. I mean I watch most of it because I didn't drive I think I drove once that was good. No I drove a couple times. I drove once the second time like I drove the second time I was good. Let's get after that. Let you guys drive.

00:07:51:03 - 00:07:54:08
Meghan
After the weird intersection where you couldn't tell if anybody was stopped. No one.

00:07:54:08 - 00:08:08:20
Stacey
Was stopping. Like, you know how we all just do like that kind of. I kind of stop. I looked a little bit, but, like, you can't look because the houses are so close to the street. It's a one way. There was a six way intersection and then all of a stop. There's no stop sign. No, no, at that there anything.

00:08:08:20 - 00:08:23:23
Stacey
No. Like, no. Stop it. It's just like a bunch of grid things on the ground. And the guy ahead, he. It doesn't really stop. Like, you kind of slowed down a little bit and then just kept going, and you're like, oh, I don't we don't. We're just looking I don't know. But like it's no, it's it's supposed to be a stop sign.

00:08:24:00 - 00:08:36:27
Meghan
I think it's the lines on the ground. Yes. Yeah. So there was no actual stop sign. It was just that there was a line on the ground. So you're supposed to know that that means that you stop and the other one has the right away. But don't stop too much because the people behind you would get mad.

00:08:36:29 - 00:08:56:13
Stacey
Exactly. Yeah. No. You're stopping. Why are you stopping? Just look and go, you know? yes. And it's not as if we're going fast or anything. We were. I mean, it's fast enough that we weren't going in the middle of a little old, like, medieval city, but that was a heck of a drive in. For reference, we drove from the top of France, we flew into Paris, and then we stayed in Le Mans and then we went further north to go see more, see Mont Saint-Michel

00:08:56:17 - 00:09:03:03
Stacey
So we drove from the top of France to the very bottom of France. Majority on the like West side ish.

00:09:03:05 - 00:09:23:15
Meghan
If you want to look it up, iron more. Most northern point that we saw west Mont Saint-Michel, which is absolutely phenomenal. You absolutely have to see it no matter what the season. and then our southernmost thing that we saw was Carcassonne Castle. It was two weeks of full driving all day, every day to see as much as we possibly could.

00:09:23:18 - 00:09:36:20
Meghan
And I would not change that trip. But having done it like you, incredible trips for so much and me being the one who planned the majority of it, which in hindsight I shouldn't have, I wouldn't change what I did, but I wouldn't do it again.

00:09:36:22 - 00:09:39:16
Stacey
If you know Meg, you know she has control issues.

00:09:39:18 - 00:09:45:07
Meghan
I think this comes up in like 50% of the podcast. So if you're following along to this point, you would know by now.

00:09:45:09 - 00:10:12:17
Stacey
Meg has controls, which is totally cool and told I'm like, I'm on vacation, we're just traveling and I'm totally and you just stick me in a car, let me see the things I'm in. Now, mind you, seeing the things in a car with Meg, though, was like, you ever watch those rally races? And then the ones where they had to wear the helmets and the guy beside them is like reading them off, some sort of gibberish of, like, numbers and stuff that's driving with Meg, and it makes it 20 times worse because you're in France and you can drive like a maniac because everybody else does.

00:10:12:18 - 00:10:36:12
Stacey
That was all kind of crazy. And then my husband is not as used to the drive in. He likes to drive, so he drives majority of the times, except for this trip. He didn't because he wasn't on the insurance on the car, so he was not in control. And, he had to sit in the front seat because the if you also, again, if you've been to Europe and the cars are small, so there was no way anybody else is sitting in the back seat with two other children

00:10:36:19 - 00:10:42:05
Meghan
Two children and one adult was we did not it didn't we didn't fit. at all we didn't fit at all.

00:10:42:06 - 00:10:49:13
Stacey
I had to sit sideways the majority of the time between two kids who were generally covered in chocolate or food of some form.

00:10:49:13 - 00:11:14:20
Meghan
Yeah, because that's all you could do. Like we planned, what, four hours a day of driving? At least? Yeah. Plus the wood stops at, places to visit. Yeah, just just shove food in them constantly. It was a lot. But again, I wouldn't change what we did on that trip. I wouldn't do it again. And honestly, I don't even think that while we were on the trip, as mentally messy as it was for me halfway through, like there was never a time where I was like, you know what, scrap it.

00:11:14:21 - 00:11:24:05
Meghan
Let's just stop here or go back or end like there was no point where I was like, that's enough. We stay in one place and scrap everything that I planned or everywhere else we stayed.

00:11:24:06 - 00:11:40:08
Stacey
Because every time we saw the thing, like every time we made it to the next place and were like, oh my God. I mean, the whole idea was we were trying to make it home. And I say that quotation marks was I mean, we part of our lineage comes from the center of France and what's called Limoges So we were making it there.

00:11:40:08 - 00:11:49:18
Stacey
And when we got there, it was so cool to actually be there, kind of stay there a little longer. Definitely. I could have toured around there. It's really pretty. If you've ever been, I think it's called the park National the something or other petty good.

00:11:49:24 - 00:11:55:26
Meghan
Cool, I believe you. Yeah, because I don't remember. I didn't look at the map the same way that you did. I look at towns and distances and.

00:11:55:26 - 00:11:57:09
Stacey
I look for houses.

00:11:57:11 - 00:11:58:17
Meghan
With the ferrets.

00:11:58:19 - 00:12:04:04
Stacey
And that's how I know where things are, because I've looked for many, many castles and like, can we drive by this castle? It's for sale.

00:12:04:06 - 00:12:17:27
Meghan
And the crazy thing, like, you're right, that was the entire reason for that. Well, no. Sorry, the entire reason for the trip was one of yours being in a I don’t know worldwide championship thing, right? Yeah. It's kayaking.

00:12:18:00 - 00:12:20:09
Stacey
National whitewater kayaking.

00:12:20:09 - 00:12:25:15
Meghan
And so is it national or international at that point, it's got to be national. Yeah.

00:12:25:17 - 00:12:36:24
Stacey
so yeah, that was the whole thing that started off this crazy trip was that Chris was going to my husband was going on this trip. and then we tagged along and then we made it our trip.

00:12:36:27 - 00:12:50:14
Meghan
You tagged along, and then you were like, well, we're not going without Meg. Who do do do do Steve. And then I'm like, why doesn't my entire family come? So it grew and it grew and grew, and I don't think it was what Chris planned for it to be, but I think he enjoyed it.

00:12:50:21 - 00:12:55:13
Stacey
So he did enjoy it. There's a few places we missed and he needs to go back and see, which is totally fine.

00:12:55:13 - 00:13:04:12
Meghan
Well, I mean, there's a whole section like we saw the top to bottom, but we didn't see the Midwest, northeast, the East, the southeast.

00:13:04:15 - 00:13:06:12
Stacey
Yeah, the southeast. But also that's where the north.

00:13:06:13 - 00:13:09:20
Meghan
Oh, on the German. Yeah. On Strasburg. The German end of it. Yes.

00:13:09:20 - 00:13:15:01
Stacey
You're right. Knew that. But also I think he missed a one that was in Normandy. Which would have been great to see.

00:13:15:03 - 00:13:16:15
Meghan
So again top to bottom.

00:13:16:15 - 00:13:17:10
Stacey
Top to bottom.

00:13:17:10 - 00:13:18:10
Meghan
Again.

00:13:18:12 - 00:13:19:12
Stacey
Because it's like zigzagging.

00:13:19:12 - 00:13:22:15
Meghan
This time it's a zigzag.

00:13:22:17 - 00:13:25:23
Stacey
Because you can't go down through the mountains. I think in some parts I don't know if there's a whole side.

00:13:25:27 - 00:13:27:27
Meghan
You'd have to go around them. Yes.

00:13:27:28 - 00:13:29:29
Stacey
You have to come back to Paris to go.

00:13:30:04 - 00:13:31:09
Meghan
You're right.

00:13:31:11 - 00:13:36:11
Meghan
You're right. Okay. Normandy. Paris. Paris. Leone. Yeah.

00:13:36:13 - 00:13:38:15
Stacey
I just wanted to make sure to make it to Leo this time.

00:13:38:17 - 00:14:05:02
Meghan
I want to see the flamingos and the wild horses. Yes, agree .actually, it's funny too, though, because. So, my kids were eight, five and two ish thereabouts. So the middle one, who's six now, she has been talking about it frequently lately, which is also funny because we're at a one year anniversary yesterday. I flew home yesterday one year ago, and she's talked about it several times in the past couple weeks.

00:14:05:04 - 00:14:21:29
Meghan
I don't think I've talked about it. I don't know where it came in less I have been right. And I don't realize because it's one year, but she's been talking about it, so she remembers it even though she was five. She sees a picture of the Eiffel Tower and gets super excited. She talks about her trip to France.

00:14:21:29 - 00:14:36:09
Meghan
She wants to go back to France. I find that mind blowing because when I posted videos about being there and about being on the plane with small children and everybody had a fit because I was on the plane with small children, like, you're not allowed to take them on a plane. But so she was five and she remembers being there.

00:14:36:09 - 00:14:52:05
Meghan
She might not remember specifics and she might not remember for her whole life, but she knows that traveling is a thing that you can do. She knows she had a great time. She wants to do it again, which to me is really the only reason to have done it at her age to show the possibilities. I just find it so cool.

00:14:52:05 - 00:15:05:03
Meghan
So anyways, I was talking to her when she started, but she brought it up and she's like, I miss France. I want to go back to France and then I was like, you know what? I want to go see? I want to go see the flamingos and the wild horses. So road trip. How long have we been off the plane?

00:15:05:03 - 00:15:08:09
Meghan
When did we. Oh my gosh. Really? Yesterday? Not yesterday. The day before yesterday.

00:15:08:12 - 00:15:13:25
Stacey
Okay. Did we land in today's or like. Damn, let's go somewhere again. Can even function. Not like really.

00:15:13:29 - 00:15:32:12
Meghan
Crashing whole back into reality where my youngest is super sick trying to manage all the business stuff that we haven't been doing because we were doing one thing for several days, losing my mind because I overload myself and I'm like, let's go again. Yeah, I feel like we have a little bit of an addiction to traveling.

00:15:32:14 - 00:15:44:26
Stacey
Definitely. I could just be a traveler, like I would need every so often to show back up at home and be like, hey, I just need some downtime and no more people in. I'm good for a bit. And then you give me a week and I'll be like, okay, let's go.

00:15:44:28 - 00:15:52:24
Meghan
But it would be like traveling is our job at that point, because we'd be traveling and then we get tired and then we go home for a vacation.

00:15:52:29 - 00:16:02:04
Stacey
Oh, that would be cool. I'm in. I'm totally in. If anybody wants to, sponsor us to be travelers, we.

00:16:02:04 - 00:16:09:03
Meghan
Have seen a lot of Airbnbs. We've seen a lot of houses. We've seen a lot of places. We are pretty good with multiple languages.

00:16:09:06 - 00:16:28:26
Stacey
Not bad. I don't even know if we got in that conversation before. Like, I don't speak Spanish. My French is mediocre. Meg's French is great. Her Spanish is not bad. Good enough that at one point she was able to read taxi drivers messages to his girlfriend.

00:16:28:28 - 00:16:43:15
Meghan
Okay, so no, start at the beginning, because this is a completely different trip. too though, because, like, we just got back from Chicago for a business trip. We did one year ago. Yesterday was the end of our France trip as a family for two weeks. So this was a big trip that you're talking about too, because it was all it was.

00:16:43:15 - 00:16:46:08
Meghan
The same thing in Chicago is a buying market for wedding dresses.

00:16:46:10 - 00:16:47:16
Stacey
But where was it.

00:16:47:19 - 00:16:54:27
Meghan
In Barcelona when? Because why not cause we could. Because we could. But you know what? Also, we took a baby with us. Because why.

00:16:54:27 - 00:16:56:12
Meghan
Not us?

00:16:56:14 - 00:16:57:26
Stacey
Why do anything easy? Why do.

00:16:57:26 - 00:17:00:15
Meghan
Anything easy? She was, what, six months? Eight months?

00:17:00:22 - 00:17:01:13
Stacey
Eight months? I think.

00:17:01:16 - 00:17:02:13
Meghan
She wasn't walking yet.

00:17:02:20 - 00:17:12:15
Stacey
Which actually made it a little bit easier, because then at that point we just backpacked or or like stroller and it was a lot easier just to strap on, and then she wouldn't fuss as much. But yeah, she saw a lot of stuff she.

00:17:12:15 - 00:17:14:02
Meghan
Saw like saw a lot of Spain.

00:17:14:08 - 00:17:15:05
Meghan

00:17:15:08 - 00:17:18:11
Meghan
Holy smokes, Spain and France. That's a very well traveled baby.

00:17:18:12 - 00:17:18:27
Stacey
Yes it is.

00:17:19:04 - 00:17:21:09
Meghan
Yes. Yeah.

00:17:21:11 - 00:17:29:24
Meghan
yes. But so great stories out of that trip. You are right. But okay, so we have this baby. We're making it through Spain. The.

00:17:29:27 - 00:17:36:19
Stacey
I think we were on our way home at that point. Like, I'm pretty sure we were in rough shape at that point on the way home and were tired. this was the.

00:17:36:19 - 00:17:38:21
Meghan
Trip back to the airport. I'm pretty positive for it.

00:17:38:21 - 00:17:51:27
Stacey
Yes, yes. So we had left our hotel, which was like downtown Barcelona, got this Uber or taxi and I don't remember. We got this taxi and it's actually a very it was very nice. It was all leather seats. It was beautiful.

00:17:52:01 - 00:17:54:05
Meghan
It was pristine. Like he kept his. Yes.

00:17:54:05 - 00:17:54:24
Stacey
Very nice.

00:17:54:25 - 00:17:57:00
Meghan
Pristine. Yeah. Unfortunately.

00:17:57:04 - 00:18:16:12
Stacey
Say hello and you know. Yes. Airport. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Cool. So as Meg’s daughter is sitting in the middle and she's fussing a little bit, so I've like got something in my purse, there's got to be something. So pull out of all things. A sugar pocket. Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. Let's pull out a sugar packet for this eight month old.

00:18:16:12 - 00:18:33:27
Stacey
Yeah, yeah. That's okay. Keeps her busy. So she's happy. She's shaking it and it makes noises. She's happy. I'm like, that's awesome. I'm too tired to care right now. You know baby you know that like everybody, every parent has had that moment where like I just don't care right now. So she's shaking that sugar packet and Meg is looking at the man or the taxi driver.

00:18:33:27 - 00:18:53:19
Stacey
And he's agitated, I would say, and not just a little like he's driving like, again, if you've been driving in Barcelona, downtown, in a taxi, you'll know the chaos. Like there's no they don't stop. There's lots of honking, there's lots of swerving. There's so many roundabouts. I'm pretty sure the entire thing is just one big, huge roundabout. And I wouldn't.

00:18:53:19 - 00:19:10:10
Meghan
Say that I was paying attention to him in the sense that I was concerned because everybody was driving like that. And he wasn't everyone. Yeah. And he wasn't being like, overly erratic or or crazy or anything. He was fitting in with everybody else trying to get around this ten car roundabout the same way as everybody.

00:19:10:15 - 00:19:16:17
Stacey
The bikes around. Yeah. And like the people and everything like it. Just everyone was driving that way and I just it was chaos.

00:19:16:17 - 00:19:26:03
Meghan
And it may have been rush hour. Who knows. There a lot of cars there. But I mean, I started purposefully paying attention to what he was doing because then he was texting in the middle.

00:19:26:03 - 00:19:29:13
Meghan
Of in the middle of all this.

00:19:29:15 - 00:19:46:06
Meghan
And I was like, that's an interesting choice to start texting. Well, we're in this massive driving and I'm sure you're used to it, but let's. So then I started paying attention. And yes, I do have a small problem that if your phone is visible, I speak speed read. Yes, I can read in 0.02 seconds.

00:19:46:09 - 00:19:55:16
Stacey
Yes, we could see it. But also you're driving us and there a lot of things like you're agitated at something going on in your phone. You're not agitated at the road.

00:19:55:18 - 00:20:00:21
Meghan
No, that's just normal for him. That chaos of driving is normal for me. He was agitated at what was happening on his phone.

00:20:00:24 - 00:20:27:24
Stacey
So Meg's reading this as I'm watching as you with her sugar pack, and I'm looking at side, and I look back at Meg's face. And if you could see my face, hers was shock. and then almost an evil smile of like, oh, I was like, what? What? What's going on? She's like, I think that his girlfriend is breaking up with him over the phone.

00:20:27:27 - 00:20:40:26
Meghan
His girlfriend was breaking up with him over text, but then it got better because I'm read and obviously now I'm paying attention and there are lots of emojis going on and like capitals and he's getting real angry. So I'm paying attention and I'm like, oh my God, this is like, this is going down.

00:20:40:26 - 00:20:44:14
Meghan
I was checking in and he's texting.

00:20:44:14 - 00:21:05:03
Meghan
And he's getting angry. And then his response to her, whatever, she she said something like, I can't do this anymore or whatever, I'm not interested. I don't remember what her wording was. and then his response was, is it because I'm a taxi driver? And I was like, oh, what? I wish I had been able to record that scene because that, yes, you're right.

00:21:05:04 - 00:21:07:12
Meghan
That's what the her facial.

00:21:07:12 - 00:21:13:09
Stacey
Expressions were. Awesome. So and that's not all that's that's not where it stops okay.

00:21:13:16 - 00:21:17:09
Meghan
So back to Azi in the sugar packet.

00:21:17:12 - 00:21:24:17
Stacey
As this is all going down what happens. But

00:21:24:19 - 00:21:46:24
Stacey
The sugar packet gets torn open flies into the air everywhere. There's sugar everywhere. So thank goodness this guy has no idea what's going on in the back seat. Thank goodness. So we're trying to, like, nicely brush everything onto the floor onto like our clothes. So like we can when we step out of this we can like brush it off.

00:21:46:26 - 00:21:53:06
Stacey
But we're trying to get it off. His beautiful clean leather sheets.

00:21:53:09 - 00:22:14:26
Meghan
I do love traveling, and I love the amount that we laugh and there are definite situations where people will get upset about things. And it it's just funny. It's fun to me, this these crazy stories, just hilarity because how often does this maybe this happens to some people at home and their life must be hilarious, but I don't get into situations like that in Ottawa.

00:22:14:29 - 00:22:22:26
Stacey
I probably do. I think we do it every day. I don't know, I mean, we weren't driving in Ubers in the city, man. We're driving ourselves downtown.

00:22:23:00 - 00:22:29:06
Meghan
Maybe we should wait. Are you saying that next time Chris drives us somewhere, I should take a sugar packet in the back?

00:22:29:13 - 00:22:32:27
Stacey
He wouldn't notice past them after we already making the truck? I don't know.

00:22:33:00 - 00:22:37:13
Meghan
No, you're right. I probably, like, eaten a sprinkle donut and got sprinkles everywhere.

00:22:37:15 - 00:22:41:23
Stacey
I was like, the bane of Chris's existence is sprinkle donuts on his truck.

00:22:41:25 - 00:22:49:13
Meghan
I do remember him telling that story, and I always assumed that he cared a lot of what was eaten. I think he gave up because I yeah.

00:22:49:15 - 00:22:54:00
Stacey
He did. He gave up after. Poor guy. I love you, babe.

00:22:54:02 - 00:23:13:17
Meghan
So it is a hard comparison then because work trip, family trip. We laugh no matter what. We have fun no matter what. slam in as much as possible. It is tiring. I will say that no matter what, they are all tiring. Yes, they're not really vacations because we're trying to see as much as humanly possible in the time that is given to us while we're somewhere else.

00:23:13:19 - 00:23:30:00
Meghan
Even like Barcelona was a work trip, and we saw the markets and we saw the dresses took in a lot of different things and a lot of designers that we don't have. We it was just fun. But we also tried to see the city and we walked a lot to see the city, and we went up to see the gondola and castle on top of the hill.

00:23:30:02 - 00:23:33:04
Stacey
Oh, Laberint d’Horta Yeah, yeah. See, that's also beautiful.

00:23:33:04 - 00:23:34:18
Meghan
Recommend that if you're in Barcelona.

00:23:34:20 - 00:23:37:26
Stacey
Just don't get fooled by the old lady that sits at the bottom of the stairs.

00:23:38:03 - 00:23:39:18
Meghan
Like it's like I.

00:23:39:18 - 00:23:49:03
Stacey
Wouldn't be surprised. She probably sits every day. Just excited to wait for these people who don't speak Spanish and look at.

00:23:49:06 - 00:23:51:00
Stacey
That's another story. I’ll them the other day?

00:23:51:02 - 00:23:55:05
Meghan
Yeah, that's actually.

00:23:55:07 - 00:23:56:10
Stacey
Euro just loves it.

00:23:56:13 - 00:24:13:21
Meghan
Stays easy. She likes to say that I know Spanish well enough. I will give myself credit that I can read it decently because it's super similar to me. It's super similar to French, but I don't speak it well. My understanding is definitely rudimentary, but I can definitely say see? Yeah, like I understand what you're saying.

00:24:13:24 - 00:24:24:07
Stacey
And she did after she got directions from this old lady looking for the labyrinth that we were going to. And she kept saying, see? And so the woman, I assume, thought what Meg thought.

00:24:24:09 - 00:24:26:23
Meghan
The woman thought that I understood her. Yeah. So she just kept going, you.

00:24:26:28 - 00:24:37:05
Stacey
See, and I'm like, I have no idea what's going on. I'm pretty good. Meg knows what she's saying right now, because that's a lot of words. It's a lot. It's a lot of. And what you're saying. So anyways, no, they've done it.

00:24:37:05 - 00:24:49:00
Meghan
I've done it in Germany. I've done it in lots of places. I just agree, they all motion like everybody uses hand gestures. They point in the right general direction. You go that way until you're a few blocks in the ass. I mean.

00:24:49:03 - 00:24:52:23
Stacey
We did like 150 sets of stairs, man.

00:24:52:25 - 00:24:54:17
Meghan
She probably told us where the elevator was.

00:24:54:17 - 00:24:58:25
Stacey
She probably did where like see gracias .

00:24:58:27 - 00:25:06:02
Meghan
gracias now I will say that I tried to speak to Julio in Spanish on the Chicago trip, and he did not respond in Spanish.

00:25:06:02 - 00:25:10:04
Stacey
No, he did not. No, no. You're Spanish was very poor to him. He was like, no.

00:25:10:06 - 00:25:12:27
Meghan
No, absolutely not.

00:25:12:29 - 00:25:31:05
Stacey
So we did a poll today on our Instagram, finding out if people like to travel as much as we do. Majority of people like to travel like I love to travel, but I wonder if people think I guess that's our problem for us is the traveling for us means going to see the things, doing the things, seeing the people.

00:25:31:07 - 00:25:38:04
Stacey
If you were going to tell me that we're going to travel, I'm going to go somewhere and we're going to sit there for a week like I'm not a sit down says in a look at a hotel.

00:25:38:11 - 00:25:51:29
Meghan
No, that's fair, because you asked the poll and you didn't specify what kind of travel it was, though I'm not positive. I don't think it would matter, though, if you say travel, each person is going to think of what they think of travel is.

00:25:52:01 - 00:25:55:17
Stacey
A good point. Yeah, it was 90%.

00:25:55:19 - 00:26:00:05
Meghan
Yes, I love traveling and 10%, which was one person at the time.

00:26:00:07 - 00:26:01:16
Meghan
Yeah, I don't know what it's that now.

00:26:01:18 - 00:26:06:26
Meghan
I don't know what it's at now, but that one person was like, you couldn't pay me to travel.

00:26:06:28 - 00:26:08:22
Stacey
Which is insane

00:26:08:24 - 00:26:10:27
Stacey
Like I said, people are just comfortable at home. That's cool.

00:26:10:29 - 00:26:17:29
Meghan
That's cool. If you love being where you are, it's not like I don't enjoy being here doing what we do, but I love traveling. Where are we going next?

00:26:18:01 - 00:26:19:25
Stacey
well, Chris and I have to go honeymoon.

00:26:20:01 - 00:26:20:26
Meghan
I'm not going on that.

00:26:20:27 - 00:26:23:17
Stacey
I told you that. No. It's okay. Stephen. come doo doo doo.

00:26:23:17 - 00:26:24:03
Meghan
Doo doo doo.

00:26:24:04 - 00:26:27:04
Meghan
Doo. Steve.

00:26:27:07 - 00:26:28:21
Meghan
I would, I'm not going to.

00:26:28:24 - 00:26:31:24
Stacey
why where I think we're going to like Scotland. I'd love to.

00:26:31:24 - 00:26:36:18
Meghan
I would love to go. It's weird. You need to go by yourself.

00:26:36:20 - 00:26:37:17
Stacey
I shouldn't be.

00:26:37:17 - 00:26:40:05
Meghan
The one telling you. Oh, okay. If they all come.

00:26:40:07 - 00:26:56:15
Stacey
We could do, like, three days. Yeah, but, like, if the whole family goes again. Yeah. And we just do three days on our own, and, you know, guys are almost old enough to just be like, we're going to leave you here for a day. We're going to do. No. What am I talking about? I'm totally cool

00:26:56:17 - 00:26:58:11
Meghan
I don't think any of your kids are going to go anyways.

00:26:58:18 - 00:27:06:21
Stacey
One of them might. Two of them might. The other one's always traveling on his own anyways. So it's not that he doesn't need to go. He's not allowed.

00:27:06:21 - 00:27:15:09
Meghan
To come in. He's what, 17? Yeah, yeah. I'll save my grumblings about save my grumbling that.

00:27:15:11 - 00:27:17:18
Meghan
I'm.

00:27:17:21 - 00:27:19:01
Meghan
He needs a manager, I'll tell you that.

00:27:19:06 - 00:27:20:12
Stacey
Yes he does, yes he does.

00:27:20:17 - 00:27:22:10
Meghan
And I need a 10th job.

00:27:22:13 - 00:27:24:23
Meghan
No, no you don't.

00:27:24:26 - 00:27:27:04
Stacey
I could be a traveling job. That could be a gig right there.

00:27:27:08 - 00:27:34:00
Meghan
That's true. We would just have to actually commit to going with him. And I do feel like we're actually supposed to pay attention to him while we're there.

00:27:34:03 - 00:27:35:21
Stacey
We can't just drop them off.

00:27:35:24 - 00:27:41:06
Meghan
I don't I don't feel like that's what a manager does . good luck kiddo you know. Hey, how you doing?

00:27:41:08 - 00:27:43:16
Stacey
Your, on your race. Okay.

00:27:43:18 - 00:27:58:23
Meghan
Good luck. Good luck doing that thing. You do. I yeah. I don't know, work trip or family trip next doesn't bother me. Although I did have her request that the next trip not be as crazy as much like moving.

00:27:58:28 - 00:28:11:26
Stacey
As much moving. Yes, yes. And I'd be okay with that, because we did move every two days or so at least, or every three days. But yeah, we moved to the next house. Yes, I would be happier if we spent like four days and just like, went from that place to the things.

00:28:11:26 - 00:28:30:29
Meghan
Yes. So they have to be in closer proximity to each other. Correct. Because that was the one downfall of, trying to see the country top to bottom. Yeah. Was the constant moving and staying, and it was moving every second day, which essentially only gives you like 1 or 2 nights in each place. Yes. Which you kind of have to wonder, what was I thinking when I planned this?

00:28:30:29 - 00:28:31:29
Meghan
I have three small children.

00:28:31:29 - 00:28:36:23
Stacey
I don't think you were. I think you were just thinking, like I used to travel like you did when you were solo.

00:28:36:23 - 00:28:37:25
Meghan
Traveling, pretty.

00:28:37:25 - 00:28:38:16
Meghan
Much.

00:28:38:19 - 00:28:39:15
Meghan
I was like, well, so.

00:28:39:16 - 00:28:40:23
Stacey
solo traveling with ten people.

00:28:40:25 - 00:28:46:22
Meghan
have the kids. They can come with me wherever I go, strap them in the car. We survived.

00:28:46:24 - 00:28:48:15
Stacey
We survived. The kids did really well.

00:28:48:17 - 00:28:58:07
Meghan
We did the same thing with the girls that came with us. District Cargo recently. Well, they're coming with us regardless. What are we doing? I don't know, nobody asked any questions. Where are we staying? I don't know, I've already sent it to you. We didn't look at it. Whatever. Just follow me

00:28:58:15 - 00:29:06:01
Stacey
I do enjoy that. We're basically. We're going on a trip where we go in Chicago. Oh that's nice. Okay. And that's all. That's it, that's it. Other than that, everybody just shows up with their bags.

00:29:06:01 - 00:29:17:10
Meghan
It. It's planned to bring your bag over the airport. What time we be here this time? Okay, cool. They didn't believe me that I knew where we were going. I cannot find my way around hotels and subdivisions. I cannot tell you the amount of times I got lost in the hotel.

00:29:17:10 - 00:29:31:13
Stacey
Drive in the elevator with Meg is joyous, like kills me. I don't know how. She just. Elevators just don't work for pressing the seven button and we go going to 10. I was like, but we press seven, though. It's like elevators. hate Meg I ended.

00:29:31:13 - 00:29:51:08
Meghan
Up at 16. I don't even know how I got to 16. This guy gets on. I'm not paying any attention. Get off the elevator. And then I'm like halfway down the hallway and went, oh, damn it, back on the elevator, I don't know, don't know what it is, but as soon as I get onto the street, I'll be like, yeah, it's one block that way, one block that way.

00:29:51:08 - 00:29:54:22
Meghan
We're we're good. I'll get you there. I don't know, it's fun though.

00:29:54:25 - 00:29:55:18
Stacey
It is fun.

00:29:55:21 - 00:30:01:15
Meghan
I'll go wherever, whenever. Yeah. Let's go back to that. Anybody wants to sponsor us? Absolutely. I'm in a total.

00:30:01:15 - 00:30:01:29
Stacey
Trip of.

00:30:01:29 - 00:30:06:18
Meghan
Like, whatever. Whatever. Review something. You got something you want us to check out? We'll check it out. Yeah, that'd be great.

00:30:06:18 - 00:30:07:26
Stacey
Europe is nice place.

00:30:07:29 - 00:30:12:23
Meghan
We're obviously good at talking about things. I can get by on any language with hand gestures.

00:30:12:25 - 00:30:14:20
Stacey
But then that becomes a YouTube episode.

00:30:14:22 - 00:30:16:13
Meghan
Yes, that's got to be visual.

00:30:16:14 - 00:30:18:15
Meghan
Yeah.

00:30:18:18 - 00:30:22:01
Stacey
I'm sorry, but that is as I sign language.
